The garden contains different play surfaces for the many areas we provide.
The under two’s main section in the garden is a soft surface area of astroturf to provide a comfortable area with space for children to develop gross motor skills and includes a sensory corner.

In the main garden we have partitioned section of eco-friendly soft surfacing for children to ride bikes, scooters and trike's in a safe environment.

The paved area outside the preschool room will provide many messy activities such as painting, playdough and sand and water play.

In the middle of the garden there is the use of a lovely wooden climbing frame.

We have a play house for children to develop their imaginary role play.

In the far corner of the garden we have provided a quiet area, under the apple tree with wooden benches so children can sit to read books or complete puzzles.

We have a muddy mud pile where children can dig for worms, make mud pies and enjoy the freedom of the soil. Full waterproofs will be provided during time within the digging pile and this activity will be supervised at all times.

We have a vegetable patch maintained by our local gardener to provide some of our vegetables and herbs for consumption in nursery.

The children also have their very own vegetable patch to grow vegetables.

The sensory garden will include grown herbs for the children to explore.

Our chickens will provide fresh eggs and help children to learn where our food comes from in the world. The chickens will have sufficient space to run around and provide eggs quite comfortably.

Little earthworms is very lucky to have a large beautiful grassed garden for the small amount of children we caterer for.

Children will have access to the garden at most times, rain, snow or shine just as John Ruskin said; “There is no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.” So please provide suitable clothing for all weathers.
